A wax tribute to one of my favorite sculptures the Vestal Virgil, created in beeswax and soy wax and scented with nag champa. I’ve wanted a small replica statue of this for years, but they’ve always been worth the price, but financially unobtainable to me. When I found this mould, I knew it was meant for me (and many of you). Pure beeswax scented with rich and mysterious Nag Champa, so it smells like your favorite head shop. Available as a candle or wickless wax statue. This beauty measures 5 inches tall and is 4.72 inches wide and weighs around 12 ounces. The Veiled Vestal is an 1847 sculpture by Rafaelle Monti. The work was commissioned by William Cavendish, 6th Duke of Devonshire during an 1846 trip to Naples. It is a representation of a Vestal Virgin, the priestesses of the Ancient Roman goddess Vesta. The subject was popular at this time due to the then recent discovery of the House of the Vestals in Pompeii. The depiction of translucent fabrics was popular
